We Started This Because We've Seen It Firsthand

We're Max, Matteo, Zhenghang, and Ian — four students at Stoneham High School who started the Dollar Tuition Club because we've watched classmates and friends worry about whether they can afford college.

Low-income, first-generation college students face a gap that grades and ambition alone can't close. The cost of tuition stops too many students before they even start.

The Dollar Tuition Club is our answer: a community-driven fund where small donations — starting at just one dollar — pool together to help real students at Stoneham pay for higher education. Every cent goes directly to tuition through our school's scholarship committee.

What is the Dollar Tuition Club?

The Dollar Tuition Club is a student-led fundraising initiative at Stoneham High School. We collect small donations — starting at just one dollar — and pool them together to help low-income, first-generation college students pay for tuition. We started it because we've seen firsthand how the cost of college can stop talented students from even trying.

Who benefits from my donation?

Your donation directly supports low-income, first-generation college students from Stoneham High School. These are students who might not otherwise be able to afford higher education. Funds are distributed through the school's scholarship committee to ensure they reach the students who need them most.

How are funds used?

One hundred percent of donations go directly to student tuition. We have no paid staff, no office, and no overhead — we're four high school students running this out of our school. All collected funds are donated to the Stoneham High School scholarship committee, which distributes them to qualifying students.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Not at this time. The Dollar Tuition Club is not currently a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations are not tax-deductible. We're a student-run initiative operating through Stoneham High School, and every dollar still goes directly to student tuition. Obtaining nonprofit status is something we hope to pursue in the future.
